Spoiler Alert
Now that we’ve gotten started, I should warn you about a few things.
SPOILER ALERT #1: This is not going to be one of those blogs about life’s ups and downs with posts about how the blogger has faltered for maybe a step or two and then valiantly and inspirationally carry on. Sometimes I falter, sometimes I carry on — just not very valiantly or inspirationally. I’ve been known to complain about the carrying on which makes me neither valiant nor inspirational and makes me question whether I’m actually “carrying on.”
SPOILER ALERT #2: Forthcoming posts may contain references to woo woo stuff, namely, ghosts, psychics, psychic readings, mediums, spiritualists, reincarnation, and new age theories, etc. that I may or may not believe in. Kind reader, you’ve been warned.
SPOILER ALERT #3: I’m not an Oprah, Deepak Chopra, Dr. Laura or Dr. Phil. I have no sage wisdom of my own to impart, just my experience. I’m an ordinary person with some somewhat out-of-the-ordinary experiences (see Spoiler #2) that I’ve handled with varying degrees of success.
SPOILER ALERT #4: I’m going to blog about grief, mental illness, suicide, therapy, drugs, sex, rock & roll, and God. Especially God, but in an Eat, Pray, Love kind of way, not a traditional or evangelical or otherwise Christian way. See Spoiler #2. I’m also going to post all the things that I’ve learned in therapy because everyone isn’t able to go.
SPOILER ALERT #5: There will be a lot of funny content. I promise. Although I’ll post a lot about my dark times, I’ll write about the light, funny things that have happened, too, and the humor to be found even in the darkest subjects.
You have been warned.
